FAQs1. The Get Fit in 150 Challenge runs January 15-February 15 and is open to all South Dakotans. You cannot enter activity before January 15th. You have until February 20th to enter your minutes of activity.
2. This challenge is to increase awareness of the importance of physical activity and to encourage you to increase your minutes of physical activity over the course of each week. The challenge will involve counting minutes of physical activity, with 10 minutes the minimum amount you must be engaged in physical activity. For example, you may not count a 5 minute brisk walk, but you may count a 12 minute brisk walk toward your weekly total. The overall goal of the challenge is 150 minutes per week. 3. Start slowly. Don't overdo.Work at a level that challenges you, but that feels good. |

Want to improve your health and have fun at the same time? The Get Fit in 150 Healthy Challenge does just that!
Why 150? Recent federal guidelines recommend adults get at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week, or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week, or an equivalent mix of both. Add up your minutes daily, and throughout the week striving for at least 150 minutes of physical activity, making sure you work in 10 minute minimum increments. There are many ways to get physical activity!
This section of the HealthySD.gov site makes it easy to get started.
