South Dakota's Nutrition and Physical Activity Plan

In 2006 South Dakota released its first comprehensive plan to increase healthy eating and physical activity as ways to reduce overweight and obesity and their subsequent risk for chronic disease such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension and diabetes. This plan was updated and a revision released in April 2010; it is available at 2010 Plan. Implementation is now underway.
